Applicable Spec - CQD 21 E - K Ration Biscuits

Repro-

2 Packages Biscuits (Energy Crackers)

1 Package of 4 graham crackers wrapped in cellophane and sealed with sealing iron.
1 Package of 4 club crackers wrapped in cellophane and sealed with sealing iron.

Cellophane: The biscuits, cigarettes, fruit bar and D-bar are wrapped in cellophane that is sealed with a sealing iron.

I originally started cutting the cellophane to correct measurements before I wrapped the items.  When I started producing more items I realized that I did not need to exactly cut the cellophane before I wrapped the items.  A rough cut is sufficient and it will shrink around the item.  Watch the heat that is used.  If you do not use enough heat the cellophane will not seal.  If you use too much heat the cellophane will melt.  I use between 2 ¼ and 2 ½ on the dial for the Hanger 9 heat sealer.  The iron temperature varies from the tip of the shoe to the base.  I start with the tip which appears to be the coolest part and move toward the rear of the shoe if I need a higher temperature.  Running the iron over the entire item will shrink the cellophane to a tight wrap around the item.

Clear cellophane can be found in the wrapping paper section at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, or other similar locations.

1.  Cut cellophane to the general size of the item to be wrapped.
2.  Wrap the item as if it were a small present, starting with the seam on the back of the item.
3.  Seal the main seam.
4.  Fold in either end and seal.
