Laces--
Whenever donning or removing your leggings, never yank hard, or suddenly, on the lace. This is one of the fastest ways to break your laces, and can mean a very uncomfortable day of rocks and briars.

It is highly impractical to attempt to tie a broken lace.

ALWAYS carry at least one extra lace on you. Not only can this help if you snap a lace, but legging laces may be used for a variety of other things which will become apparent only when you need some string.

Extra laces - as issued, lightly knotted.
